Gratitude

This time of year I am reminded once again to think about the things for which I am grateful in my life.

The constants - yoga, friends and family

I really enjoy taking a regular yoga class and am grateful for having found Sundara Yoga in Brunswick, ME. The classes help me feel grounded, strong and flexible. I am pleased as my personal practice continues its evolution as I explore different poses. This month I am designing practices around the anatomy trains 12 meridian fascial planes. It has been a fun challenge.

The ladies who join me week after week for Chair Yoga at Crow Point Yoga in Boothbay Harbor, ME are a highlight of my week. It is such fun to watch them accept my challenges to their strength, stamina and balance.

It has been a blessing to be living closer to my family. Thank you to my amazing husband who provided the opportunity to return home from Colorado so I could feel this connection. Just being in the same time zone makes it so much easier to stay up to date with what we are all doing. And we have reconnected with friends we met in Colorado but who moved home ahead of me. They have been welcoming, supportive and encouraging.

In case you are curious Body in Tune would love to collaborate with you to find your perfect movement practice.

The new events - new friends, new community, clients

Having moved into our new home last December we reconnected with an old friend from Colorado who lives just minutes away. They welcomed us into their group for bonfires, dinners and theater. We repeatedly find ourselves saying how nice people are in Maine. And then we were so pleased that our next door neighbors encouraged us to join the weekly rides with the local cycling club. I will admit I have never pushed so hard and for so long a bike as I did this past summer trying to keep up!

Best of all is the support I have received from the friends, family, clients and yoga students as my business, Body in Tune, LLC, has set down roots and is growing nicely.

Good news! Body in Tune would love to collaborate with you to teach you this precise yoga practice and to support your ongoing practice so you can enjoy your life off the mat with confidence.

The experiences this year created a year of discoveries

We are grateful for the opportunity to re-discover x-c skiing and that Maine resorts can actually groom snow in a way I feel like I can handle telemark skiing without too much ice with which to contend.

I am thankful for my bookclubs. It had been years since I had felt I had the time or inclination to be part of a bookclub. And now I find myself in two different groups. I love the amazing ladies in Boothbay Harbor and closer to home with a college friend’s group. I am pushed to grow and think beyond my usual by the stimulating conversations that come up around the books we choose and the tangents we find ourselves discussing.

It has been fun to follow my husband as we explore the birds in New England. This year’s birding festival covered all the weather from hot and humid, to wind and cold to rain and cold all in 3 days. But each year (this was year 2) we saw new birds and met fascinating and more experienced birders.

My last discovery has been cold water swimming. What an exhilarating activity that offers a sense of empowerment, strength and calm. Thank you to the Hendricks Little Dippers!

So as the year moves towards its close and the sunlight decreases, I nestle in reminded that I have been officially full time in my business for a little over 2 years now. I enjoy the intermingling of physical therapy and yoga to create a balanced schedule as I believe quality of life matters for me as well as for the clients who come to me with their fitness goals and for direction with their osteoporosis. Most are looking for strength and agility and the freedom to continue being active and outdoors with their friends. So I trust the process of building a new business. Grateful for all the interest and support I have found in my new community.

Body in Tune, LLC was born from a belief that quality of life matters; both life and physical balance matters.

I would welcome the opportunity to be part of your support team with regards to your muscles, joints, bones and osteoporosis. The goal is, after all, to help you feel confident in your body so you can play with your grand children, take that long-dreamed of vacation and get outside and enjoy a walk with friends.
